Philharmonic Schedules Free Concerts

The 2008 Concerts in the Parks series, with all performances at 8 p.m., opens on the Great Lawn of Central Park on June 24, with a program including works by Shostakovich, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky and Sousa. The series will conclude on July 15 with works by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Sibelius also on the Great Lawn. All New York concerts will be followed by fireworks.
