Giant day gecko (Phelsuma madagascarensis grandi)

Mary Schwalm Anole at the Central Park Zoo.

Where found : Madagascar. Take a peek into the Boa exhibit just past the Short-tailed fruit bats on the level of the Tropic building. Geckos are great at camouflage so look closely up and down- this gecko may be brown or green.
Diet : Insects and flower nectar. At the Central Park Zoo, the Giant day gecko is fed crickets, wax worms or mealworms, and apricot baby food.
Life span : 11–13 years in captivity.

Orient knight anole (Anolis smallwoodi)
Where found : Eastern Cuba.
Diet : Grubs, spiders, medium-sized and large insects, tree frogs, and moths. At the CPZ this lizard is fed crickets and newborn mice.
Fact : There are only 29 Orient knight anoles in captivity in the United States. The Central Park Zoo’s anole is male.
Life span : 7–10 years in captivity.

Prehensile-tailed skink (Corucia zebrata)
Where found : The tropical rainforests of the Solomon Islands, off the coast of New Guinea and off the northeastern coast of Australia.
Diet : Leaves.
Description : This nocturnal leaf-eater is the largest of the known skinks and can measure up to 32 inches long.
Life span : Up to 15 years in captivity.
